Announcing the New LMF Passport and LMF Photo Gallery!

On June 19, the Land for Maine's Future (LMF) Coalition announced two new ways the public can enjoy LMF-conserved properties, and discover some great places to visit time and time again. This summer marks the 30th Anniversary of this incredibly successful program. Public land access is the essence of Maine, and LMF supports that legacy, securing perpetual land access statewide for recreation, farming, fishing and forestry.

The LMF Coalition has launched two fun ways people can take part in the celebration. Both will run from June 21 (the first day of summer) until October 1 (last day of Great Maine Outdoor Weekend).

  1. LMF Passport: the LMF Passport provides recommendations for destinations to explore this summer, making it easy to plan family outings. As a bonus, passport holders who explore at least three LMF destinations this summer and upload a photo of their completed passport will be awarded a handy “LMF Works for ME” flashlight carabiner. Those interested in participating in the program can visit for more information and to request a passport.
  1. LMF Works for ME Photo Gallery: the LMF Works for ME Photo Gallery offers people who visit LMF destinations the opportunity to share their experiences and see how others are enjoying the more than 150 special places conserved over the past thirty years with support from LMF. Instagram users can post their images to the gallery by using #LMFWorksforME, while anyone who takes a photo at an LMF destination and uploads it directly onto the gallery at will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win camping gear donated by L.L. Bean, an overnight stay at a sporting camp in the Maine Woods donated by the Appalachian Mountain Club, and other prizes. Visit for guidelines, a complete list of prizes, and more information.

Land trusts are invited to support these efforts and capitalize on these opportunities to reach out to members of your community who you may not have connected with before.

Anyone who would like more information about these activities can email Land trusts interested in getting LMF Passports and stickers to hand out at their events this summer can contact Donna at or 729-7366 ext.4577.
