Administrative Manager

General Description

Waldo County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a leadership role. Our innovative District is creating new models for conservation services and local collaboration. We are seeking someone with a positive, energetic personality and excellent communication skills as well as administrative experience. The position offers broad responsibilities and an opportunity to provide leadership in program development as well as education and outreach.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in organizational administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, organizational finance and funding development
  • Ability to create well designed desktop publishing products
  • Strong capabilities with current online communication platforms and social media
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a highly organized, productive employee in a professional setting
  • Ability to develop programs and provide public outreach and education in conservation topics related to our mission
  • Experience in environmental education or classroom education a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Bachelors Degree in Conservation or Natural Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience in the required field
  • Must be willing to submit to a federal background investigation

This is a 20 hour per week position. For a qualified candidate, the position can potentially be packaged with another contract position in environmental education for an additional 15 hours per week. Compensation is $18-20 per hour depending on experience, for 50 weeks per year.
