Membership & Outreach Associate (part time)

If so, you should consider being the first Membership & Outreach Associate for Chebeague & Cumberland Land Trust (CCLT)! CCLT conserves natural areas, open spaces, working landscapes, recreational areas, and provides environmental education to our communities.  

The Membership & Outreach Associate will work to expand CCLT’s membership, plan local events, increase engagement with our members and those in our communities, and help keep our office running smoothly.

  • Part-time, flexible work hours of 7-10 hours/week on average
  • Work with an Executive Director and engaged Board of Directors
  • Work location is Cumberland Center

Your work on a given day could include:

  • Administrative duties related to a growing organization
  • Answering someone’s question about CCLT when you go downstairs from the office to grab a coffee at Cumberland Food Company
  • Processing donation checks received in the last week in our database, generating thank you letters, and preparing periodic membership reports for the Executive Director and Board
  • Preparing several hard copy mailed appeals to members as well as electronic appeals
  • Maintaining electronic and paper records for the organization
  • Coordinating with volunteers and vendors to plan the next CCLT event
  • Posting social media and website updates
  • Preparing electronic newsletters to members
  • Maintaining a pool of CCLT photographs for outreach purposes
  • Brainstorming with the Executive Director on how to improve our outreach to members

This position might be for you if you:

  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Have experience using digital platforms (we use Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive, database software, and our website)
  • Are detail-oriented and good at planning events
  • Like to work as part of a collaborate team, but can also complete tasks independently
  • Like to learn new things and think of how to make work processes more effective and efficient
  • Would enjoy working in a casual work environment
  • Like the idea of holding the occasional staff meeting outside on a CCLT preserve
