Membership & Outreach Associate (part time)

Overview

The Western Foothills Land Trust protects over 7,000 acres in the greater Oxford Hills area of western Maine.  The Trust is committed to community conservation, providing 30 miles of mixed-use trails and recreational assets on six preserves.  We actively collaborate with community, municipal, and conservation partners in our service area. To expand and enhance our education, recreation, and conservation capacity we are preparing to launch a capital campaign.  

The Trust is looking to hire a part-time Membership and Outreach Associate to expand membership numbers and revenue, increase engagement with our members and communities, and assist the development and delivery of outreach communications across written, digital, and social media platforms.

  • Part-time, flexible work hours: 16-24 hours/week on average
  • Work with Executive Director, Program Coordinator, and Board of Directors
  • Work is centered in Norway, Maine

Your work on a given day could include:

  • Administrative duties related to a growing organization
  • Manage donor database (Little Green Light), processing donations, generating thank you letters, and preparing membership/donation reports
  • Preparing several hardcopy and electronic appeals and follow-ups annually
  • Maintaining electronic and paper records for the organization
  • Planning and coordinating friends and fund-raising events
  • Developing marketing strategies
  • Posting social media and website updates
  • Preparing electronic newsletters

This position might be for you if you:

  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Have experience using digital platforms (Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive, Little Green Light, and our website)
  • Are detail-oriented and good at planning events
  • Like to work as part of a collaborate team, but can also complete tasks independently
  • Would enjoy working in a casual work environment
