Contribute to Place®
Each year, millions of people enjoy the rugged, natural beauty of Maine and New Hampshire. Through the Contribute to Place® partnership, businesses invite their customers to give a small donation that goes directly to conserving these incomparable landscapes. These voluntary gifts help local land trusts acquire and manage natural preserves that protect the scenic beauty of Maine and provide recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
Businesses that sign on as partners in Contribute to Place® ask their guests or customers for a small contribution to support local land conservation and stewardship. The donation shows up as a voluntary charge on guests’ bills (they can easily request to have it removed). The businesses transfer the Contribute to Place® donations to the partner land trust for use in community conservation efforts.
Contribute to Place® provides residents, visitors and local businesses the opportunity to support the preservation of spectacular natural resources. These small contributions can collectively provide significant resources to advance and achieve this mission.
Participating Land Trusts – 2011
Contribute to Place® is administered by the Maine Land Trust Network (MLTN), a program of Maine Coast Heritage Trust. MLTN is an umbrella group for land trusts throughout Maine, and provides staff support and membership for Contribute to Place® to local land trusts.
