Maine Land Trust Excellence Program

Maine Coast Heritage Trust and the Land Trust Alliance are excited to announce the launch of the Maine Land Trust Excellence Program. This new program is designed to increase the operational quality and sustainability of Maine land trusts as they prepare to apply for accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

What is it?

A grant-based program provided in partnership by Maine Coast Heritage Trust and the Land Trust Alliance with support from the Pew Charitable Trusts and private donors to help Maine land trusts prepare for accreditation that provides:

  • Organizational Assessments
  • Individually tailored workplans to prepare for accreditation
  • Up to $18,000 in funding to cover the cost of needed assistance
  • Specially designed trainings and workshops

Who can apply?

  • Members of the Maine Land Trust Network
  • Land trusts eligible for accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission

Application periods

Three application periods beginning in June 2008

First application deadline is June 16, 2008
