Public Policy

The Maine Land Trust Network strives to make individual land trusts aware of state legislative issues that may impact their land conservation work. During each legislative session a listing of bills that may be of interest to land trusts will be posted below with links to bill status. A final summary will be posted following the close of the legislative session.

With guidance from the Maine Land Trust Network Steering Committee, Maine Coast Heritage Trust will closely track a limited number of bills and share further information through the Network and this website. MCHT will focus its efforts on those bills deemed to have significant implications for land trusts and land conservation statewide.

Land trusts should feel free to contact MCHT to discuss these or other legislative issues at (207) 729-7366 or jromano@mcht.org.
