Mission Statement
This Sanctuary is organized as a grassroots 501 (c) 3 public benefit land trust to carry out the goals of conservation, habitat enhancement, land management, and responsible stewardship for the benefit of the general public, various species of plant and wildlife (among those being the endangered Blanding's Turtle) and their surrounding habitat. It will be our mission to conserve, protect, and educate the general public to the value of the land and water resources, plant and animal life, and the natural terrain, for the ecological, educational, esthetic, historic, recreational and scenic value therein. BPWS IS A 501 (c) 3 PUBLIC CHARITY LAND TRUST CREATED AND DEDICATED TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT ALL SPECIES THROUGH CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, RECREATION AND RESEARCH FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL.
Region
Our focus area is defined as an area of significant wildlife habitat rich in vernal pools and home to the endangered Blanding's turtle and threatened spotted turtle and is bounded by Pool, Granite, West Sts. & Guinea Rd.

- 2006 was our organizational year. Since receiving notification of our 501 (c) 3 status on May 31, 2007 we can now concentrate on membership drives, land acquisition, grant applications, and corporate sponsorship. During 2007 we acquired 3 parcels of land totaling 75 acres. We acquired an additional 55+ acres on 3/27/08 and 31+ acres in March 2009, bringing our total forever preserved acres to 160+. In 2008 we are beginning our annaul LIFE (Learning is Fun and Educational) Lecture Series which is free to the general public.
