2024 Maine Land Conservation Conference Sponsorships

Sponsorship covers acknowledgement in all promotion, web presence, and at all sessions.

About the Conference

Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s annual Maine Land Conservation Conference brings together land trusts, natural resource professionals, and Maine people to discuss and explore the most pressing issues facing land conservation.

Participants share knowledge and best practices, learn from experts and one another, and are energized by inspiring speakers.

Each year, Maine’s conservation community increases the impact of its work by coming together to learn and grow collaboratively.

2024 Return to Traditional Two-Day In-Person Conference Model

The 40th annual Maine Land Conservation Conference returns to its traditional two-day in-person conference to celebrate in-person reconnection with speakers, small group discussion, and plenty of networking and social time.

Friday, April 12:

In-depth workshops, field trips and a land trust community social at Flight Deck Brewing in Brunswick.

Saturday, April 13:

A full day of opportunities for connection and shared learning including 22 workshops, a Land Fair exhibition, networking time over coffee and lunch, and a closing gathering focused on innovative and diverse partnerships in land conservation.

Keynote Speaker – Dr. Bonnie Newsom

We’re thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker on Saturday, April 13, will be Dr. Bonnie Newsom, a citizen of the Penobscot Nation and Associate Professor of Anthropology at University of Maine. Dr. Newsom is also the Co-Principal Investigator at the Center for Braiding Indigenous Knowledge and Science (CBIKS) Northeast Hub. CBIKS examines how to effectively and ethically braid Western and Indigenous science research, education, and practice related to the urgent and interconnected challenges of climate change, cultural places, and food security. Dr. Newsom will discuss her work at CBIKS and how it can be applied to land conservation in Maine.
