The Freeport Conservation Trust is seeking candidates to fill a Summer Program Intern position.  This is a new opportunity with flexible field and office work. S/he will have the opportunity to gain experience in many diverse aspects of the land trust world.

The position will encompass several focus areas including working in close association with our Stewardship Coordinator to learn and apply land trust best practices in the field. Working with staff and volunteers to plan events including the popular annual Freeport Trail Challenge and Frost Gully Dam Removal, a special restoration project. As well as communications and education outreach projects, and organization development office projects. Tasks are flexible based on organization priorities and intern interests.

This position is for 10-12 weeks, approximately late May/June-August 2023. Hours are 6-8 hours per day, mainly Monday through Friday (30-40 hours per week). Compensation is $15-16 per hour depending on experience, with one paid holiday (July 4), and worker’s compensation coverage.

Please note: A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required for travel throughout the Freeport area; FCT does not currently provide housing for this position.
