Reports to: Executive Director or Associate Director

Job Status: Full-time (32-40 hours/week)

Position Summary:
This position assists with administrative, development, and membership activities of the Western Foothills Land Trust.

Essential Functions:


  • Maintain office filing systems
  • Assist with correspondence, copying, telephone calls, updating contact lists, emailing, and mailing as needed
  • Assist with setting up or maintaining systems to allow WFLT to adhere to Land Trust Alliance policies and procedures

Development and Membership

  • Process membership and other donations and ensure timely acknowledgement of contributions
  • Maintain database for gifts and pledges
  • Prepare progress reports
  • Coordinate and produce fundraising mailings including preparing mailing lists
  • Assist with funding proposal preparation
  • Liaise with development/fundraising consultants


  • Assist with production of bi-annual newsletters and monthly e-newsletters, social media etc.
  • Support, help coordinate and attend outreach events as needed (~20 events/year)
  • Assist with membership and volunteer engagement and appreciation and drive increased community engagement

Other Duties

  • Other duties as requested by Executive Director or Associate Director

Core Competencies and Requirements:

  • Interest in and familiarity with land trusts and their mission of the conservation, acquisition, and stewardship of land
  • Fluency with MS Office programs, database management (Little Green Light), and website/social media
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational abilities and ability to operate general office equipment
  • Customer-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
  • Self-motivated
  • Must maintain a valid vehicle driver’s license and personal vehicle with evidence of insurability
  • Some evenings and weekend days may be required
