Maine High Adventure, the trekking program of the Katahdin Area Council, BSA is hiring a director.  MHA runs guided, outfitted canoe and hiking treks for Scout and other organized youth groups. The MHA base camp is off the grid, on Grand Lake Matagamon, at the northeast corner of Baxter State Park.

This is a year-round position, part-time for 9 months and full-time in residence at Matagamon June through August. The director is responsible for marketing, recruiting crews, hiring and training staff, and overseeing the reception, outfitting, and trek transportation for crews.

Position requirements include excellent communication, marketing, and customer relations skills, competence with social media and website, minimum age of 25 years, and become registered with the BSA. Camping and trekking experience is desirable, as is a Scouting background. The director must be highly organized and a self-starter. The director reports to the KAC Scout Executive and is supported by an active volunteer Advisory Committee.
