Great Works Regional Land Trust (GWRLT) seeks an intern to complete an update to GWRLT’s 2009 Conservation Plan for the communities of Wells, Ogunquit, Eliot, South Berwick, Berwick, and North Berwick in southern Maine. The current iteration is a 25-page document. The intern will conduct research, communicating with contacts in the six towns and with partnering agencies, to update specific tables, photos, language, and narrative. The intern will report directly to the GWRLT Executive Director and Stewardship Director. GWRLT Property Steward will update any maps and will work with the intern to identify needs for new maps and critical information. The Board and staff will provide guidance and help where available and applicable.

Useful skills include research, conservation, planning, report writing, environmental studies, excel, general familiarity with conservation goals and issues in southern Maine.

The internship will pay $1500.00 total for a completed updated Conservation Plan, $500 to be paid monthly and will not exceed 3 months. This project can also be eligible for college credit provided the student/intern coordinates with their college/university and the work meets the satisfaction of the Executive Director and Stewardship Director. The update should take no longer than 3 months and could be done in significantly less time, i.e., if the entire report is complete in one month, then the intern will be paid the entire amount at the end of that month.
