Reports to: Development Director

Mission: Caring for the lands and waters of the Damariscotta-Pemaquid Region by conserving special places, protecting water quality, creating trails and public access, and deepening connections to nature.

Position Summary: The Development Coordinator supports all aspects of donation processing, will co-lead a large database migration process, and will help address issues as they arise, train staff, and help implement new processes at Coastal Rivers. The goal of these activities is to promote Coastal Rivers’ mission while broadening and deepening support for conservation of the Damariscotta-Pemaquid region.

Hours: 35 hours per week over 5 days. Please note: This position is based primarily in the office, but with the possibility of at least one day a week working from home. Occasional evenings and rare weekend days are required. We will consider a part-time schedule for the right candidate, with a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Compensation: This is a salaried position that starts at $45,000 per year (for a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week). Compensation and benefits for a part-time position will be considered and determined accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Database and Donation Processing

Assists with processing, organization, and maintenance of donor data

  • Assists with processing of all donations including receiving, scanning, organizing, and depositing donations
  • Enters donation data into CRM database (up to 75% of workload during peak periods)
  • Acknowledges donations through issuing printed receipts and cards, and maintains digital copies
  • Prepares reports and queries (including mailing lists) in database
  • Collaborates with the Development Director on the CRM database’s organization to ensure quality, security, and consistency
  • Actively participates in the Development Committee, in coordination with the Development Director
  • Other duties as assigned

Donor Communications and Outreach

Supports communications and outreach to donor base

  • Actively participates in the internal communications team
  • Assists with email correspondence with Coastal Rivers members, community partners, volunteers, and members of the public
  • Assists onsite at public events, and preparing for events with donor lists and materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Some college or associate’s degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills; handles donor information and communication with kindness, discretion, and a high-level of confidentiality
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Minimum 3 years experience coordinating donor database or CRM preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to self-manage work
  • Ability to work onsite at office in Damariscotta
  • Current on all vaccinations (including Covid) and willing to follow office health and safety procedures as needed
  • Enjoys working with data, doing research, solving puzzles, and working independently
  • Enjoys collaboration, is flexibly minded, and excited to learn
