About the position

7 Lakes seeks an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support our Development Director in the organization’s development activities. Primary responsibilities include working with staff and volunteers to:

  • Perform data analysis of historical giving trends using donor database, i.e., Donor Snap
    1. Assess internal database for trends of individual donors and make recommendations for customized requests
    2. Create supporting PowerPoint presentations.
    3. Write reports of donor trends; individuals and groups
  • Write letters to donors and prospective donors
  • Design, and help assemble materials for meetings and development-related communications for newsletter, appeals, articles, Business Group, etc. Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Canva.
  • Organize fundraising events and business sponsor program, including catering. Assist Development Director with all appeals.
  • Work with the Development and Campaign Committees to develop agendas, minutes, strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of written and electronic documents
  • Work with Chief Executive Officer and Development Director as needed
  • Maintain strict level of confidentiality and professionalism

Hours and compensation

This is a full-time, year-round position with flexible hours including some weekends and evenings. 7 Lakes has a competitive benefits program, retirement, including paid vacation and sick time. Salary commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will effectively demonstrate the following qualifications.

Required:

  • Development and communications experience
  • Excellent communications skills both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently but interact seamlessly with a high-performance team
  • Efficient and well organized with the ability to multitask while pursing many priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Knowledge of environmental conservation and a passion for mission of 7LA
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with donor database systems, especially Donor Snap

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with nonprofit donor cultivation strategies, cycles and stewardship
  • Familiarity with social media
