Great Works Regional Land Trust is in search of a year-round resident caretaker and tenant for its Beach Plum Farm property at 610 Main Street in Ogunquit, Maine.

The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, including mowing, raking, and shoveling, and overseeing GWRLT’s Community Gardens. The property has nearly 70 garden plots, and the Caretaker will be responsible for coordinating and engaging with gardeners as well as hosting BPF Community Garden Steering Committee meetings.

The Caretaker must live on-site as a tenant. GWRLT will provide a reduction in rent at a rate of $20 per hour for up to 40 hours of Caretaking tasks completed per month. The Caretaker must contribute 20 hours per month at minimum. The full Caretaker Responsibilities Agreement can be viewed upon request.

The tenant property is a two-bedroom, one-bath farmhouse situated on GWRLT’s 22-acre coastal Beach Plum Farm Preserve. This is a publicly accessible property with a half-mile walking path. The property is located adjacent to the Ogunquit River on the back side of Footbridge Beach and is in walking distance to downtown Ogunquit. GWRLT’s office is also located on the property and open throughout the week. Beach Plum Farm Preserve is open to the public from dawn to dusk daily.

The Caretaker must sign a one-year lease. Monthly rent is $2,000. The rental includes a washer and dryer, open concept kitchen/living room, and a full basement, and water is included. Multiple tenants/caretakers welcome with certain limitations.
