What is the Maine Land Conservation Conference?

Maine Coast Heritage Trust began convening land conservation leaders and practitioners in the early 80s. Through the years, it has become the largest annual gathering of conservationists in the state.

A contingent of students and teachers from Unity College have traditionally attended the Conference. Scholarships are available to anyone who wishes to attend but finds the registration fee to be an obstacle.

The Maine Land Conservation Conference brings together hundreds of conservationists, land stewards, scientists, legal professionals, students, and community members to explore the most pressing issues in land conservation today. This annual event creates a unique space for sharing knowledge and best practices, learning from experts and peers, and finding inspiration from dynamic speakers who are shaping the future of conservation. Through interactive workshops, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful networking opportunities, participants gain practical tools and fresh perspectives to strengthen their work. Each year, Maine’s conservation community amplifies its impact by coming together to learn, collaborate, and grow—building a stronger, more connected movement for the protection of Maine’s lands and natural resources.
