2020 Conference Keynote Address
Maine Coast Heritage Trust is pleased to announce that Andrew Pershing, Chief Scientific Officer at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) in Portland, Maine, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Maine Land Conservation Conference. Andy’s talk, entitled “Responding to Our Changing Climate: Lessons from the Gulf of Maine,” will kick off a day of workshops, round table discussions, and peer-to-peer exchanged focused on how we as Mainers can incorporate climate concerns and resilience strategies into our work and lives.
As head of GMRI’s Climate Change Ecology Lab, Andy Pershing’s research focuses on the causes and consequences of changing conditions in the Gulf of Maine, and he is an expert on how climate variability and climate change impact the ecosystems in the northwest Atlantic. Andy also serves on the Maine Climate Council and Scientific and Technical Subcommittee. We are excited to welcome Andy to the conference stage this year!
