Join fellow land trust professionals from the Maine Land Trust Network for an engaging conversation on the opportunities and challenges of creating organizational headquarters that double as community spaces. We’ll explore how land trusts are designing places that welcome the public, strengthen partnerships, and support their missions.

During this session, you’ll hear from two organizations at different stages of developing—or relocating to—a headquarters that connects people with land, learning, and community.

Featured Speakers

Nick Ullo, Executive Director of Boothbay Region Land Trust, will share insights from transforming a conserved property into the land trust’s headquarters, a nature center, and a vibrant hub for year‑round programs and community engagement.

Gabe Perkins, Executive Director of Inland Woods & Trails, will discuss their active effort to move into a new space that reflects their organizational needs while providing value and accessibility to the community.

What to Expect

  • Real-world examples from organizations at different stages of the process
  • Lessons learned around planning, partnerships, public engagement, and facility design
  • Ample time for questions, discussion, and peer-to-peer learning

This gathering builds on our December virtual meeting focused on Land Trust Office options, continuing the conversation with deeper insights and practical experiences.
