Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust conserves and stewards land and water in the Upper Androscoggin Watershed, for the benefit of the community and future generations.
In shorter terms, we conserve land, build trails, and offer programs that connect our community to make it happier and healthier.
Since 1991, we have worked to conserve land that is critical to the protection of our waters, which provides recreational opportunities year-round and conserves our cultural heritage. We work within the Rangeley Lakes Region and are proud to partner with local municipalities, state governments, non-profit organizations, landowners and groups within our community to protect our environment and to increase recreational opportunities.

Key Facts
- RLHT has conserved 14,000 acres of land including 50 miles of lake and river frontage, 15 islands and the majestic 2,443 foot Bald Mountain.
- Hosts year-round nature-based experiential education programming for community members of all ages: kids camps, weekly walks, fishing days, birding events, safety programs.
- Coordinates the Headwaters Lake Protection Program which includes water quality monitoring, invasive plants, and courtesy boat inspections.
- RLHT practices sustainable forestland management which support recreational opportunities and improved wildlife habitat.
- Working with Americorps College Conservation Corps of Maine, local and regional groups on new trails to improve public access to conserved lands
