- Preserved an archipelago with innovative cooperation from U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife
- Successfully protected Vinalhaven’s largest salt marsh
- Maintain trails on over 700 acres
- Cooperated with town on a resource inventory for comprehensive plan
- Host public picnics, trail walks and community open house
- Fundraised to purchase land adjoining town park land; subsequently donated purchased land to town
- Sponsor fifteen to twenty environmental education walks open to all each year; topics include birds, geology, intertidal life, wildflowers

- Participated and helped sponsor state wide tax study
- Large portion of the watershed for the town water supply is now owned in fee by VLT
- Protected a favored community outlook, Big Tip Toe Mountain, as well as the surrounding 40 acres, from development
- Opened a new Story Trail on the Granite Island Preserve, encouraging readers young & old to follow the pages of a changing, favorite children’s story through what was once an island quarrying site, now moss covered forest floor, on their journey to the Basin shore.
