Share Your Land & Conservation Stories

This year, we’ve added a video storytelling project to the conference. The Land & Conservation Stories series is a partnership with Heavy Edition, a production company committed to supporting science and climate outreach initiatives to improve public engagement with conservation themes.

All attendees have the option to stop by the video studio and share their stories, insights, and experiences working in conservation.

Project Goals

The footage captured will be used to develop videos for a not-for-profit content library. The goal is to create educational and inspirational clips that can be leveraged by land trusts, municipalities, teachers, community groups, and others — to improve public understanding of the value and impact that conservation projects have throughout Maine. From the producer:

“We want to support organizations, both large and small, in their public outreach and education initiatives. We know many organizations lack the budget to produce these stories themselves, and we also know the importance of putting a face to climate and conservation stories — and how that creates meaningful connections with the audiences we need to reach in order to build support for the important work you’re doing.”

Video Session Info

Sessions are available on both Tuesday and Wednesday of the conference, with time slots scheduled around key parts of the conference’s agenda.

  • Interested attendees can reserve a 15-minute block of time
  • Feel free to talk about any topic you like, or we can ask you questions
  • No need to prepare anything ahead of time; this is a conversational interview

Reserve Time

If you’re interested in participating, you can sign up for a specific time slot using the online form here, or you can reach out to the producer with any questions.

Participants will also be able to drop in for filming sessions if the studio is available — but we recommend reserving a time slot if there’s something you’d like to share.
