Land Trusts Featured in Down East Magazine’s August Edition
Have you seen the August edition of Down East magazine? Land trusts are on the cover! The Partnerships & Public Policy department at Maine Coast Heritage Trust worked with editorial assistant Charlie Pike, resulting in a 12-page spread highlighting the unique role Maine land trusts play in providing open, healthy, and working green spaces across the state. The article traces the beginnings of the conservation movement in Maine through the present day, and leans on data reported in the recent 2024 Maine Land Trust Census to illustrate the many benefits land trusts bring to their local communities. Naturally, it also features stunning photographs of several land trust preserves.
This is a great example of how MCHT works to support and promote all of the organizations in Maine working to conserve our special way of life and iconic natural landscapes. After all, it’s a message worth repeating!
