Save the Dates for NOAA Funded Climate Resilience Conservation Fund Information Session and Application
|
|
|
We have some big news: the Climate Resilience Conservation Fund is launching next month! And because we want everyone to have all the information necessary to take advantage of this $4.1M funding opportunity, we hope you’ll save the date – Monday, September 15 from 12:00-1:00pm – for an information webinar with Partnerships & Public Policy staff, fund manager Jennifer Melville, and Maine Natural Areas Program Chief Ecologist Kristen Puryear. For now, here are the basics: What is the Climate Resilience Conservation Program (CRCF)?
The CRCF supports land protection projects that enhance climate resilience and reduce climate impacts on Maine’s land, waters and people. Support for the Fund comes from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Resilience Regional Challenge (CRRC). Maine Coast Heritage Trust administers the Fund in coordination with the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future.
What kinds of projects are eligible?
Projects that permanently conserve land in fee or through a conservation easement are eligible. Projects must contribute to the climate resilience of Maine’s coastal communities and close by April 2027.
Who can apply?
Maine’s federally recognized Tribal governments, municipalities, state conservation agencies, and non-profit organizations dedicated to conservation, restoration or preservation of land and natural resources are eligible to apply.
What is the maximum grant size?
The CRCF does not have a minimum or maximum grant size, but awards are typically from $50,000-$250,000.
What is the application period?
In this first round, applications will be accepted from early September through October 22, 2025. There will be at least one more application round in 2026.
We will have all the details available on the MLTN website at the beginning of September and we look forward to answering all your questions at the info session on September 15th. Click here to register for the that session now.
We’re so excited to see this significant funding available to support Maine communities!

September will be here before we know it! We are now taking RSVPs for our annual Regional Land Trust Meetings. Please email us and let us know which meeting you plan to attend so that we can plan accordingly. View dates and locations on our website. The first two meetings take place in September:
Regional meetings are informal opportunities for you to gather with other land trust staff, volunteers, and board members, as well as other interested community members, to discuss issues of common importance. They are free and open to the public. You can attend any meeting that works for you and some of the discussion will be the same in all regions, but we’ll also reserve time for you to raise topics that are of particular importance in your region. Feel free to share proposed discussion topics with us when you RSVP!
