New Land and Easement Acquisition Program Launches in Maine
Previously available in New York and Connecticut, this highly effective funding program has now expanded into parts of Maine.
We are so excited to share information about the Land and Easement Acquisition Program from the Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation (PCLB). This program has proven effective in New York and Connecticut at helping land trusts complete active projects needing matching funds to close, and it is being expanded in 2026 to include parts of Maine. The program is intended to be some of the last money in on a project to facilitate closing out fundraising – so it is important to make sure the project has the ability to close within a year of receiving grant funds. The Maine Land Trust Network will be working closely with the PCLB Foundation to spread the word about the program and to support land trusts as needed to develop compelling applications.
The detailed guidelines for the program can be found here. Please reach out to Angela Twitchell at MLTN () if you have questions about whether your project is a good fit for this funding source or if you need support in pulling together the application requirements.
We look forward to hearing from you about some of your great projects that might be a fit for these funds.
