Key Facts
- Through fee ownership and conservation easements, PILP has now preserved more than 20% of Peaks Island as open space.
- In 2022-23 PILP retained Forrest Bell Environmental to conduct a detailed environmental study of all PILP properties, published in a lengthy report.
- PILP has been working hard on forest fire prevention and quick response, in concert with the City of Portland and State agencies.
- PILP is studying and forming a program for the control and reduction of invasive plant species island-wide.
