Each year, Maine Coast Heritage Trust presents the annual Maine Land Conservation Conference for and with Maine’s robust land conservation community. We come together to train on best practices in all aspects of land trust work, connect with our peers, and grapple with the most pressing issues facing land conservation today. Learn about past conferences here.
This year, the conference will take place at the Augusta Civic Center on Tuesday, April 28th, and Wednesday, April 29th, and includes two full days of activities and networking. The main event on Wednesday will focus on the evolution of conservation and how it continues to grow to meet the needs of local communities – their people, plants, wildlife, and environment.
Take a look at the links on the right to find information on how to become a sponsor, available scholarship opportunities, and suggestions for outdoor activities in the area. We are still finalizing the details, so be sure to check back for updates on workshops, presenter biographies, and the conference schedule. Highlights for this year’s conference include:
- A bird walk and a yoga class on Tuesday morning
- Two in-depth Tuesday morning workshops
- A variety of cohort gatherings on Tuesday afternoon
- A meeting for land trust executive directors
- A social gathering on Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm, sponsored by The Nature Conservancy
- Wednesday plenary session
- 16 concurrent workshops on Wednesday
